Progress of a Morpheus8 radiofrequency treatment
Before the Morpheus8 session, a consultation is conducted with the patient to assess the condition of their skin and understand their expectations. This helps to personalize the treatment according to their specific needs and tissue characteristics. Any contraindications like diabetes, herpes, healing disorders, cancerous skin lesions, or allergies to local anesthetics are also checked, and precautions will be recommended if needed. It is recommended to drink plenty of water to keep the skin well hydrated before the treatment.
The Morpheus8 session begins with deep cleansing of the treated area, followed by the application of an anesthetic cream to minimize any discomfort during the treatment. After 40 minutes, the cream is removed, and the skin is disinfected before the treatment starts.
The Morpheus8 modular device has a control screen and a handpiece that can be personalized based on the patient’s skin characteristics and the treated area. The device can treat the skin up to a depth of 1-8mm using 24 gold-plated needles that penetrate the hypodermis, coagulating fat cells, and contracting connective tissues. Simultaneously, radiofrequency energy is delivered to the dermis, causing a concentration of heat throughout the skin’s surface. The handpiece is applied repeatedly to the entire treated area during the session, which lasts around 20 to 30 minutes.
After the treatment, the skin is disinfected again, and a soothing cream is applied. Redness and slight swelling are normal, but they disappear quickly within hours. There is no downtime, and patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment. Sun protection with an SPF of 50+ is recommended for at least a week after the treatment.
The results of the Morpheus8 treatment are visible gradually over the weeks following the session as the body produces collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, which rejuvenates and smooths the skin. The skin regains a better tone, appears smoother, re-tensioned, and regains its elasticity. For optimal results, it is recommended to have 3-4 sessions targeting the same area, spaced 3-4 weeks apart. The result of a Morpheus8 radiofrequency treatment can already be observed 3 to 6 weeks after a first session.
